The United State is one of the only high income countries to ensure that families get a healthy start through paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child. Only 23% of civilian workers get paid maternity leave, even though it’s becoming a standard benefit for full time employees in moderate to well-paying jobs, but not for hourly or low-wage workers. This interview first aired on HealthCetera in the Catskills on WIOX Radio on November 30, 2022.”
