Elder abuse remains a significant problem in the United States. It is estimated that between 1 and 2 million Americans aged 65 or older have been injured, exploited, or otherwise mistreated by someone on whom they depended for care or protection. June 15th was declared a World Elder Abuse Awareness Day to draw attention to this disturbing problem that affects some of the most vulnerable people in our nation and world.

On the first part of HealthCetera onThursday, June 30th at 1:00, Producer Diana Mason, RN, talks about this important topic with Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN, President of the John A Hartford Foundation that is dedicated to improving the health and care of older adults. Over the years, Terry has been a researcher and leader in addressing elder abuse.
