AARP, the American Association of Retired Persons, is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Americans over the age of 50 maintain healthy and productive lives as they continue aging. One mission of the organization is to spread important and relevant healthcare information to this demographic, and AARP’s website lists informative blog posts and articles about various health-related topics. Dr. Susan Reinhard, PhD, RN, FAAN is a registered nurse and Senior Vice President and Director of the Public Policy Institute for AARP, who has authored several informational AARP articles, and is helping to shape healthcare policy within the organization to best serve older Americans. On this podcast, registered nurse Dr. Diana Mason, PhD, RN, FAAN, hosts Dr. Susan Reinhard as she discusses her role within AARP, and more specifically, her work in providing information to tackle polypharmacy, and in sharing resources about a newly developed “Hospital at Home” medical care model for older adults.
