Cell Phone Ban in Schools Pt. 2

Cell phones in schools has been a controversial topic, with New York State recently banning students’ use of smartphones and other internet-enabled personal devices, including smartwatches, while in school. The ban is required to begin in the 2025-2026 school year and applies during class, lunch, study hall, and hallways and is required for both public and charter schools in the state. Is this a good idea? HealthCetera host Dr. Diana Mason, RN, talked with Dr. Sunny Hallowell, a pediatric nurse practitioner and Associate Professor at Villanova University’s College of Nursing about smart devices in schools.
